Kia Ora and Welcome to Creative Kids,

Creative Kids Home based Education is a Ministry of Education approved childcare service based in Hamilton, New Zealand providing quality childcare to children aged 0-5 years.

We believe in and are committed to quality home based childcare and our passionate team of educators will provide a nurturing and loving environment for your child. Creative Kids  programmes are based on Te Whaariki - The Early Childhood Curriculum and Creative Kids believes that the parents are the first teachers of the child and we will work with the family to ensure that the child's and the family needs are meet.

Creative Kids believe that all children are precious gifts (Toanga) they are unique and gifted and we give them the opportunity to grow and  develop to their full potential regardless of their abilities, gender, socio-economic, ethnic or religious background.

While receiving education with Creative Kids, your child will participate in developmentally-appropriate activities throughout the day, such as:

  • Reading

  • Puzzles

  • Games

  • Arts/Crafts

  • Music

  • Activities that encourage pre reading skills

  • Weekly play groups

  • Regular Community Outings

Events:

Playgroups allow children to establish relationships while playing alongside other children. They develop a sense of well being and feel comfortable with routines. Playgroup is also a stepping stone for transitioning to school.
Our playgroups are held twice a week and are supported by a Visiting Teacher and are a time that educators can try out new and exciting ways of learning.

Music and Movement:

Music and Movement offer children the opportunity to understand how music and movement can support and build social/emotional development, learn how to regulate their emotions, work collaboratively and independently to create free movement, express feelings through voice and body, develop rhythm and harmony and mostly be creative and have fun

Music is enjoyable, soothing and assists in the development of listening skills, concentration, coordination, cooperation, communication and memory, as well as being a valuable resource for creativity. It is important to value children’s desires to repeat activities as this is one-way children practice being musical and gain control of musical forms.

Creative Explorers Outings

At Creative Kids we are passionate about getting children outdoors and we actively support children to connect with nature.  We do this by providing Creative Kids Explorers Outings within the local community. These outings offer possibilities for active exploring, planning, reasoning as well as hands on learning. It is important to us that the children develop a relationship to Papatuuaanuku and that this relationship is nurtured and underpinned by respect and aroha. We also feel that the revisiting of settings develops and encourages a sense of confidence and children know they belong and have a connection to the environment.

Ehara taku toa i te toa takitahi engari hea toa takitini.

I come not with my own strengths but bring with me the gifts, talents and strengths of my family, tribe and ancestors.

Upcoming Events:
Creative Explorers

Once a month Creative Kids has 'Creative Explorers ' outings within the local community.

These outings give the children a chance to experience a variety of people, places and things that they might not otherwise get the chance to visit.

Some trips will be hands on and exploration of the local environment and others will be looking and seeing what is around us and how we interact with these things.
